The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of North Carolina and upstate South Carolina,
including the following areas, in North Carolina, Avery,
Buncombe, Burke mountains, Caldwell mountains, Cleveland,
eastern McDowell, eastern Polk, Gaston, greater Burke, greater
Caldwell, greater Rutherford, Henderson, Lincoln, McDowell
Mountains, Mitchell, Polk mountains, Rutherford mountains,
Transylvania, and Yancey. In upstate South Carolina,
Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Chester, greater Greenville,
greater Pickens, Greenville mountains, Greenwood, Laurens,
Pickens mountains, Spartanburg, Union, and York.

* Until 8 PM EDT this evening

* localized heavy rain remains possible into this evening. On top
of saturated soils, lingering high water conditions, elevated
stream levels, flooding may redevelop.

* urban and small stream flood advisory for poor drainage areas
for...
southeastern Henderson County in western North Carolina...
southern Polk County in western North Carolina...
northeastern Greenville County in upstate South Carolina...
northwestern Spartanburg County in upstate South Carolina...

* until 615 PM EDT Monday

* at 1208 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain may be causing urban and small stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
the advisory area. 1-2 inches of rain have fallen over the
past 24 hours. An additional 1-2 inches of rain is likely over
the next 6 hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbus, Greer, Landrum, Tryon, Campobello, Saluda, Tigerville,
Mill Spring, and Harmon Field complex.

* Scattered, nuisance stream flooding is possible, including along:
south Pacolet River, North Pacolet river, Posey creek, middle
Tyger river, south Tyger river, Royster creek, Horse Creek,
Wolfe Creek, Obed Creek, Cove creek, and Camp Creek.

* Some streets may be impacted, including:
Old Mill Rd, garren Rd, Landrum Rd, Hugh Champion Rd, skyuka Rd,
Lynn Rd, McCall Rd, Howard St in Tryon, jug factory Rd,
and Bomar Rd.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Turn around, dont drown.
