Areal Flood Advisory, Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 11:53 AM CDT Apr. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The urban and small stream flood advisory remains in effect until
115 PM CDT for northwestern St. Bernard... southeastern St. Charles...
Orleans... St. Tammany... eastern Terrebonne... southeastern
Lafourche... Jefferson... northwestern Plaquemines and eastern
Washington parishes... Hancock and Pearl River counties...

At 1152 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the
advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area in a
relatively short amount of time. This additional rain will result in
minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
