Issued: 8:48 PM EDT Jun. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 2 am to 2 PM EDT
Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has
issued a coastal flood advisory, which is in effect from 2 am to
2 PM EDT Saturday.

* Locations... sensitive shorelines of Anne Arundel, Baltimore and
Harford counties.

* Tidal departure... around one foot above normal.

* Timing... around high tide late tonight into Saturday morning.

Here are the times of the next high tides
for a few locations from north to south...
on the Chesapeake Bay...
Havre de Grace... 10:15 am...
Bowley Bar... 8:42 am...
Fort McHenry Baltimore... 7:21 am...
Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy... 6:09 am...

* impacts... for Anne Arundel County... water is expected to pond in
the parking lot at Annapolis city dock. Minor shoreline
inundation is possible elsewhere. For Baltimore... flooding is
expected at the end of Thames street. Water also nearly covers
the promenade at The Dragon boat dock in the Inner Harbor. For
Harford County... water is expected to go over The Bulkhead at
the Havre de Grace Yacht Basin in multiple locations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Forecast tides are referenced to mean lower low water
(mllw) and mean higher high water (mhhw) unless
otherwise noted. Time of high total tide is
approximate to nearest hour. Total tide combines the
normal tide and departure from normal. Flood impact
is based on the total tide and waves where applicable.
