The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of central and western New York... including the
following in central ... New York... Jefferson... Lewis...
northern Cayuga and Oswego. In western New York... Allegany...
Cattaraugus... Genesee... Livingston... Monroe... Ontario... Wayne
* Until 4 PM EDT this afternoon.
* Moderate to occasionally heavy rain will continue to fall from a
deepening low over Pennsylvania today. The heaviest rainfall
will occur from about The Finger lakes region to the north
country. Many of these locations have already picked up rainfall
amounts of two to three inches or more with forecasts for
another one to two inches possible through today. Additional
amounts are expected tonight, but rainfall rates will be much
lower when compared to today.
* Sharp rises on streams may result in Urban and Small Stream
flooding... especially where leaves are clogging storm drains.
However... if the heaviest rain hits urban areas... this could
result in flash flooding. Since water levels are relatively low
on the larger rivers... the greatest impact would be with small
