Issued: 6:26 AM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM this
evening to 7 PM EST Tuesday...

* locations... Jefferson County.

* Timing... rain will change to snow and sleet early this evening
and continue through early Tuesday evening.

* Hazards... snow and sleet.

* Accumulations... 2 to 4 inches tonight and 2 to 3 inches
Tuesday... leading to storm totals of 4 to 7 inches.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 15 mph.

* Visibilities... as low as a quarter mile at times.

* Impacts... wet snow and sleet will result in slushy and slick
travel conditions. The worst travel conditions are expected
Monday night into Tuesday morning... which will make for a slick
Tuesday morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory is normally issued for a variety of
winter weather conditions such as light snow... blowing snow...
sleet... freezing rain and wind chills. While the weather will be
significant... the word advisory implies that severe winter
weather is not anticipated.
