Happy Birthday, Jesus !!!

Dec. 24, 2011:
Christmas Eve and as we go about our Christmas Activities with our family and friends
we need to never forget why we celebrate this Holiday.

King James Version: Luke Chapter 2, Vs 1-20:

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus! Amen!

Dec 16, 2011: I decided to put just 15 of the probably 40 photos I have uploaded of inside/outside Christmas decorations into the header until I get new "action" photos next week of the family doing things. Hope it does not take too long for you to upload.

Dec 12, 2011. It is time to get a real serious Christmas Blog going on here.
And I am not even putting in my weather maps for the next two weeks.....
well maybe I will if something crazy happens weather wise but ..

Ok I cannot do it I must put in my weather maps..
it is the weather geek in me!!!

"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled, till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more."

These weatherstickers say Sunrise, FL because technically my zip code is for Sunrise and not Lauderhill but I live just within the city limits of Lauderhill, we are offically NorthWest Lauderhill. There is confusion sometimes.

I found out, these maps are measuring fire hazard and soil moisture, not necessary drought according to rainfall.

This is the real "drought map" for our area.

SPL, thank you for stopping by. I had a bike that had all the gears and hand break and handlebars that are below the seat...
it hurt my back and I did not like it at all (It was my daughter's college bike"

I wanted this simple one..an old fashion kind I rode as a kid... maybe if I was more into real "bike sports" ..
Thanks for stopping by.

Scott, Hello to you and good to see you... Glad you were able to get out on your bike.
Since I live in South Florida and our highest elevation is a speed bump, I don't need a mountain bike! LOL

I just loaded up 26 photos from Christmas Eve and one of my bike.. I will go start up a new blog thread... so give me some time..

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Hi Patti!

Sounds like you had a busy one as usual.

Nice day today, cloudy but warm, near 50 degrees. Went out and rode my mountain bike, which is not a classic one. Sure couldn't last year at this time as we were buried to our eyeballs in snow.

Quoting seflagamma:
This morning I took my new Bike out for a 6 mile ride and WOW did I forget just how hard
riding a "vintage" bike without gears pulls on]your thigh muscles!
I think I will be sore tomorrow but I love it.

Will get my basket and I want a "bell" to let people know I am coming up behind them.
I will also need a lock so if I ride it somewhere and have to leave it for awhile I can lock it up so it won't get stolen.

Beautiful day here in SE Florida.

I can tell my friends here on WU because none of her friends ever come here..
and they are not ready to "tell the world on FB" yet..
but she is now pregnant with their 2nd child
which should arrive in July. So Baron will be
getting a little sibling next summer.
and it will be Grandchild #6 for us.
We just hope this pregnancy goes well all the way to the end and produced a healthy baby.

Baron has made so much progress this year it has given them courage to go for the second child!

i have 2 all-terrain bikes, got a Mongoose 26" Men's XR-75, and a Roadmaster 26" Men's Mountain Sport. both are tough, but the brakes on my mongoose arent quite the best. Roadmaster is like a rock, its tough lol

Skye, Thank you so much.

Jeff's Pulled Pork does sound good doesn't it...

Acually last Wed I had to clean out my fridge and I had a big boston Butt in there I had BBQ/Smoked a few months ago.
anytime I go to all the trouble of smoking meat I do a lot then wrapped it up really good and put in freezer.

anyway I put that Pork Butt in a slow oven with more liquid over it and covered it for about 4 hours and it was even better this time.

So I had my Pork a few days before Christmas!

Good morning my friends, Happy Boxing Day.

Sandi, NOOOOOOO I am ok with the Advent Calendar and working my way up to Dec 25th!

I cannot do the "official" 12 Days of Christmas all the way to Jan 6th Three Kings Day!

Jeff, I've heard making pulled pork in the slow cooker was the best. My daughter uses her slow cooker all the time.. Go to Food Network and check for recipes there for the slow cooker. Glad your dinner went well.

Wabit, you are never too late to say Merry Christmas.. Glad you stopped by.

I did load up one, our Annual Christmas Eve Family Picture...

It is in header and I will add it here.

back row: Harley(we had to get him in this one because we are not sure how much longer he will be part of our Christmas, he is 15 1/2 yrs old now...
Ellen, Christian, Pam, Greg, Betsey, Scott
(and now we can finally tell everyone, Betsey is expecting again due in July, Grand baby #6)
middle row. Baron, Gamma, Poppy, Nolan
Bottom row. Rylee, Cole, Ty

I am not even sure if this is the best picture of us all. Betsey's camera snapped

I have lot of pictures to load up later.

And I got my Bike! Actually when Santa came by last night he came in front door

posting here in the comments....
No matter how busy we get we don't want to forget why
we celebrate this very special holiday...
Tonight the grandkids will read or repeat after me
most of this part from the Bible.
I give the adults the harder parts from Old Testiment and in New Testiment.

Busy, busy, busy!!!

Jus, thank you so much and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Bay, I know isn't it the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year!"

Snake, I read you have a house full of kids and grandkids this weekend also.
I know you are having a grand old time!

Things are coming together.
Everyone is "out and about" and I am home alone..

but at least I can get things done.. every year my girls claim they "help" me in the kitchen.
but reality is they barely make it back in time to get dressed for Dinner..

but that is OK, I have it all down to a science after all these years.

Hope your Christmas Eve and Christmas Day goes well.

Of course as soon as I can I will get back here with our "Annual Christmas Eve Family Picture" We are schedule to take the picture at 6pm...
before the grandkids have a chance to get too dirty.
Then we hope to eat at 7:00pm.. then have our
Christmas Bible Readings by 7:30 pm.
Then Santa stops by around 7:45pm...
and then Presents !!!!
Just those from us and theirs for each other.

Baron's presents from "Santa" will not appear until tomorrow morning.

Big evening and Big day tomorrow.. lots of food prep and cooking going on around here!!!

Hi everyone and Good morning,

Thank you all for stopping by with your greetings.

In a rush right now need to run some errands this morning but will be home all afternoon.

I did get in 4 miles this morning,
Walk 1, Run 2, Walk 1.. it was much easier this morning to run those 2 miles than it was Wed morning. I probably could have run 3 miles this morning if I had the time.

Will be back later!!!

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!!!

Gamma, my sister in Cardinal Nation, I just wanted to say how much I admire how you take care of everyone you come in contact with, be it, kids, grandkids, hubby, or coworkers! You are also a lady that sticks to her guns when it comes to what she believes in, something that is getting rarer all the time!

Gamma, I wish you, Poppy, all the kids and grandkids, and Harley, Peace, and a very merry Christmas!

Here is a Christmas card I thought you'd like!

My Chili Peppers are turning red just in time For Christmas!

The califlower and broc are doing well but not making heads yet.

The strawberry plant has some buds and small fruit.. this is the 3rd year with this same strawberry plant (or it's babies)

And a few tiny green tomatoes are growing but nothing big yet.

And now for the Loofa, I finally got them all cleaned up and 6 of them tied up pretty and ready for Christmas Stockings.
The 3 big ones are for bath, the 3 smaller ones are for kitchen.
I still kept myself a nice stash!

Now, let's hope this post takes.

LT, Bliz, Scott, Rasberry, SP
thank you all for stopping by!!!
and you are welcome!

I know it is not very "Christmasy" but got a couple of photos of my garden and the Loofa
I grew and harvested, then dried, cleaned,
bleached and now made into presents!

I will load them here from Facebook for now then do it in the header later.

Hi gamma! Thanks so much for the Grinch greeting :)
Your blog is going a long way, as every year, to help de-scroogify me. Your enthusiasm and energy for Christmas decorations are a joy to see.
So glad you have all the kids there for the holiday - and it's so good to see Baron so happy on the trapeze :)
Enjoy!

I am going to try and spend some time here today doing a little blog hopping with my Christmas Greeting so need to use this space to work it out so I can copy and paste!!!

From our Home to Yours
Merry Christmas and a Healthy & Happy New Year 2012!

"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow,
stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons.
It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags.
And he puzzled and puzzled, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn%u2019t before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn%u2019t come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more."

- Dr. Seuss

Ylee, ROFL.. actually the afternoon at the mall took more out of me than the 4 miles that morning! LOL

I guess I am pretty active but my husband is even more active and he never stops so in comparison... sometimes I look lazy!

Gamma, what did the better workout, the four miles or the afternoon in high heels? :)

I'm sure most folks are amazed(me too) at your busy schedule, but I know you are used to doing stuff like this at work, as well as at home, so it not as hard on you as someone who only does it this time of year!

I hope you have an enjoyable evening!

Tomorrow, Thursday Dec 22, 2011, we celebrate Winter Solstic,
the shortest day of the year. I will be so happy when we get to Friday
and the days grows longer again.
I enjoy sunlight when I get up in morning
and when I come home from work in evening!
Celebrate and be happy!
