This is a blog for "people". You're not defined by your latest & greatest. You are you and that's great enough.

So I'm reading the strange news and I come across a story about the Varsity Streaking Team. This is the group of college kids that had the documentary showing their streaking exploits about 4 years ago. Yes, I've streaked before. It was during a summer vacation camping trip where we would take out skateboards, climb a trail and then we had about a 3/4 mile downhill run. Late one night, my dad dared myself and my stepbrother to make the run nude and he would give each of us 20 bucks. Well, like the dummies we were, we accepted the bet. It was late, after midnight, and the campground was dark so everything went well until we had come down the road to our campsite. My father had alerted our friends and other campsites so as soon as we came around the final bend everyone turned on their car headlights and aimed their flashlights and we were exposed in all our glory. Needless to say that was the first and last time I've ever done that and that leads to the QOD:
Have you ever streaked and/or what was the wild stunt you've ever pulled?

Yesterday I was reading an article that said the governement is cutting back on funding what they termed frivolous research. (Don't worry, this isn't going to be political.) Research projects such as how far does a penguin expel his poop. They listed about 10 whacky research projects that had been given grants and one caught my eye. It was about a study that linked country music to increased suicide rates. Now to my uneducated reasoning that is about as far whacked out as you can get but I will say if I was locked up and had to listen to country music 24/7 I would have to slit my wrists. Now for AHM, jazz causes the same raction for her. My own preference for music would be the top 40 R&B played today. My kids laugh that the old man in the car knows the words to the same songs they listen to and that leads to the QOD:
What music do you like and what music is like an icepick to the brain for you?

I had an e-mail offering me a question that I know just a smidgen on, so in my opinion that makes for an excellent QOD.
What does everyone thinks about the date 2012? It is the end of the Mayan calendar and in many cultures the end of the world. Even the Webbot came up with the same conclusion.
Are you a believer? Does it scare you just a tad? Who the heck is Webbot?
Have a great Monday!

It's been awhile since I've made a blog entry and since I can't sleep, now seems like a good time.
I hate Texas, nah, it's not the place or the people or the traffic. I'd hate anywhere that's not home.
My hat's off to my little boy. he's 4-0 in football this year. He's playing great, kicking the ball a mile and is a fantastic offensive tackle. Last year at 8 he was as big as the boys he played with who were 10, so with another year gone by we knew it would be close for him to make weight and not have to move up to the next division. Well a month and a half before season he was 100 pounds, ten pounds over the limit for Mighty Mites. He on his own decided he wanted to make weight and stay on the MM's and darned if he didn't just do it. I was home last week and during practice after ten minutes of up downs and then 3 200 yard dashes, after a minute he was breathing normal and ready for more. I don't think I've ever been in that good of shape
AHM is fine. She's tired of being both mom and dad and I can't say I blame her.
I am now a licensed adjuster. I'm not an employed adjuster, but I'm hoping that will change so at least when I'm not working I can be home. I know how terrible this sounds, but we really need a hurrican landfall in the CONUS. I know, I know, I think it's a terrible thing to say, but at least I know what it's like to have a terrible adjuster tell you your demolished house just needs some minor repairs, so I will not be that type.
I've been reading the blogs and will stay away from some of the excitement, but I did read about those wanting an end to the political blogs. I've got some serious opinions on the subject, but before I sound off on them I'll let others weigh in on the subject because that is the QOD:
Should political blogs not be allowed on WU?
