It's Still Winter on the Prairie

By: plapman , 12:00 PM GMT on December 11, 2007

Today will be sunny with cloudy periods and a daytime high of -11.
Tonight will start clear then increasing cloudiness overnight. Westerly winds at 20 km/h will become light this evening. An overnight low of -21 is forecast.

I got up with the queen this morning at 4:45. I don't know why. I'm sure I'll pay for it latter today.
This evening we have a home visit from the dog adoption people. I'm still undecided on getting the smaller dog or continue looking for one close to Buck's size. He made a great watch dog. People thought twice when they saw a 100 lb dog at the door. There are some German Shepherds availible or even bigger Great Pyrennes pups.

Good morning Tony...Have you looked at any Husky/shepherd cross as a replacement. We had one when I lived in NW Ontario and let me tell you what a great dog..Sara was previously a police trained dog who upon retirement needed a home and we were fortunate to have had her placed with us, she was great with the kids, a real old suck but when it came to protecting the property and family, she was right there. We had her for 7 yrs before I ended up giving her to a car dealership who had been having trouble with breakins...I kept one of her pups who was the most adorable fellow...She looked more like a true white shepherd but her pups were the true Husky, fuzzy balls of furry joy...Temperment is all important when chosing a dog and I hope you find what you are looking for..

Good morning Tony,
Darn it,I was up way before breakfast this morning, too.
We're still in the deep freeze as well at -10C.They are saying we should warm up above freezing and some snow/rain is expected for tonight. Then it's supposed to get cold again. We get it all here...cold/warm,rain/snow...all in one week.Jeez,it must be pretty boring to live in the south where the weather is the same all the time.....no wonder they get excited about hurricane season LOL.
Good luck in your quest for another canine companion.
