Another Hot Day On the Prairie

By: plapman , 11:48 AM GMT on August 20, 2013

Today will start mainly sunny but will see increasing cloudiness this afternoon. There is the risk of a thunderstorm late this afternoon. The high will be 30C(86F).
Tonight it will clear as the temp falls to 13C(55F)

Yesterday I had an unscheduled trip to the vampires to check the kidneys in preparation for a CT scan. I guess they didn't see what they wanted to see when they did the sonogram a couple of weeks ago. On my last trip to the doctor she said she didn't want to expose me to more radiation than necessary but would do one if they didn't see the cyst on my pancreas with the ultrasound.
I'm going to have to get Abbey out for her trip along the gopher trails before it gets too warm. yesterday she panted for 1/2 an hour after our trip.

Good Morning Tony!

Sorry to learn that you're experiencing further medical problems right now. Hope that any pancreatic cyst found by CT scan is benign, easily treatable and won't produce further complications! You've been through so much as it is!

My hubby's been dealing with newer health issues of his own which have had us a little on edge. Thankfully, his lingering anemia has improved, per recent bloodwork results, but for some unknown reason, his blood pressure has spiked quite high during these last few weeks. He's had to double up on his BP meds, focus further on proper diet, exercise and other emotional stress relievers so to achieve more reasonable readings. To think, a month ago, everything was continuing to go along rather well, then blammo. It sure can take its toll on both the affected loved one and spouse, but we must muddle through the best we can. Hope things will improve for all of us in the very near future.

Sounds like La Prairie's continuing to experience unusually warm to hot weather. We're entering another three day hot spell of our own after recent weeks of below average or much cooler weather. What an erratic summer it's been! First half, intensely hot and humid and then an abrupt 180 change. I'll still take an erratic summer over the frigid cold and snows of winter anytime! Less exhausting and costly!

Hope you and Abbey have a better go of it while out blazing those familiar trails today. Make sure both of you drink enough water before and after your jaunt. Hot weather and dehydration tend to go hand in hand.
