A Call From a Long Lost Friend and Memories From Long Ago

By: plapman , 12:39 PM GMT on May 24, 2012

Today will bring increasing cloudiness this morning with fog patches that developed overnight dissipating this morning. The high will be a modest 15C(59F). UV index 4 or moderate.
Tonight will be cloudy with a 60% chance of rain before morning. The wind becoming northerly at 20 km/h (12 mph) after midnight. Low 4C(39F).
What a surprize I got last night. A long lost friend called last night. I haven't heard from him in over 35 years. he moved to British Columbia and we lost track of each other. At one time the Queen and I visited him and his wife on a weekly basis and on most nights drank too much. We chatted about some of the stupid things we had done .
We had bought a small home made 10 foot plywood boat with a 3Hp motor. One time after a way too many cool ones the 2 of us and a friend decided to go fishing on a small river close to Portage. The 3rd guy stood up to relieve himself and capsized the little boat. Luckily we made it to shore safely and salvaged the boat. It's a wonder I survived those hard drinking years. The memories are something I haven't shared with my daughters. It's no wonder the Queen put her foot down and told me to grow up once the family started to arrive.

There's a couple of people I knew during my time in Florida almost 30 years ago that would barly recognize me now. I'm not sure I would recognize me!

ycd is right when he says we've survived this far through good fortune, or Grace! Unless you're Mush, who never did anything, lol!

Morning Tony:
If I saw people doing some of the things I did back then I'd call the police. Maybe I should just turn myself in now for past crimes. We survived by good fortune, not by good judgement.
It's a different world now.

Good morning Tony...Memories of when we were young and foolish. I am sure everyone has those to share or not to share....I have done some stupid things in my youth as well but keep those to myself....LOL The family have enough grey hair from my antics, why add more....heee heee heee. It's always nice to make contact with old friends and chat about those days. Make you realize how lucky you are to have made it this far sometimes...LOL

Anyway dear one, have a grand day. Going to be a few really hot days here so I am laying low other than visit the doc tomorrow to chat about meds.
