I had yesterdays blog all done and lost it again. it must be me messing it up.
Yesterdays project was to remove a dead lilac bush from the yard. What a tangled mess that was. There seem to be some new shoots coming up so I may have a new tree in a few years or maybe I'll keep cutting them off and find a way to kill the root. The thing never produced many beautiful smelling flowers anyway.
I had a good day with the Queen yesterday as we celebrated her birthday. I tease her every year that she catching up to me in age as her birthday is in may as mine is in September. For a shorth time she's only a year younger than me. :) I really surprized her with apainting of the daughters that she really wanted. I had had it shipped to a friends and they delivered it to us yesterday morning.
Tonight wer're going to use a small portabe fire pit the granddaughter purchased to BBQ some steak. It will give us the real BBQ'd flavor that a propane BBQ can't as well as the enjoyment of sitting and watching the fire. It's funny the city requires a permit for the small 30 inch diameter fire pit and the fire department has to come and inspect the thing before you can have a fire. I guess they don't want people having bonfires in the city and burning houses down.

Hi, Tony! Bet those steaks were delicious! Wood is the best way to cook meat!

Happy belated birthday to the Queen! That painting was probably the best thing you could have got her!

Take care!

Good Morning, Tony!

How coincidental that your Queen's birthday was yesterday and my hubby's birthday is today on Mother's Day, no less!

What a grand gesture, on your part, to present her with a lovely painting of her daughters as a gift! It's like two presents in one, i.e., birthday and Mother's Day! LOL! Hope tonight's BBQ'd steak is a major success and won't need to be shared with the local fire department! Bon appetite and Enjoy!!

May you get to spend this Mother's Day with your loved ones in weather that will be picture perfect!

Good morning Tony. Belated Birthday wishes for the Queen. What a wonderful gift, I can see why she is so pleased, just the thing for her birthday as well as Mother's day.

I can understand the need for fire inspectors to do their job especially in a high fire risk area. I wish they would ban private folks setting off firecrackers. My neighbour does it in his backyard, there are lots of trees as well as our roofs that could get spark damage from those darn things. Keep them for qualifed people to use in designated areas deemed safe to set them off.

Anyway have a great day Rain is in our forecast and I want to get out later to do a bit of grocery shopping. Time to stock up on kitty food again....

Morning, Tony ~ Give my belated wishes to The Queen! It sounds like a perfectly lovely day. That fire pit inspection seems a bit much, but an ounce of prevention vs. a pound of cure, and all that!

We've got lovely sunshine this morning, and apparently it's going to keep on for a while. I'm glad - we got seven inches of rain in two days, and while we're quite glad for it, we don't need any more for just a bit.

Have a great day!
