The Hoarde and another problem With Grandma

By: plapman , 11:40 AM GMT on April 25, 2012

Today will bring increasing cloudiness then a 60% chance of showers but cearing this afternoon. The wind becoming northerly at 30 km/h (19 mph) this morning. Todays high 9C(48F).
Tonight will be clear with northerly winds at30 km/h (19 mph) becoming light late this evening. The low will be -6C(21F).
It seems spring has left the prairie, what starnge weather patterns we have this year. I wouldn't be surprized if ir snowed again.
I tok Abbey out on the downtown walk yesterday just for a change of scenery. She sure enjoys the gopher chases more.
Today I'm goung to have to get back to the garage hoard, if the SIL doesn;t move his trailer soon I'll be moving stuff back in. :) Yesterday I checked a spare air tank I'd filled last summer and it still held the original 100 psi It came back into the hoarde as I found as need for it,the basement since last fall as it won't work when really cold. Maybe I should put a heat lamp on it during the winter and kreep it in the garaage but it surr came in handy during the basement reno.
The grandmother sure has a strange problem. it seems no matter how much I adjust the pendulum it still loses 5 minutes every night but keeps on ticking.

Afternoon Tony, has been awhile since we checked on one another. Yes the swells are something to contend with this week, today a grand day on the water, no action whatsoever.

Weather here all over the place, but has no settled in to more seasonal conditions, summer was back in March. However has been suggested that it is now time to mow, and bag the stuff, lawn growing fast, a first time in April to have to get serious about it for sure.

Have a good one.

Good morning, Tony! Don't look like a good day for Abbey to go out. It has been a weird "Spring" everywhere, I think! :)

The Ladies may be on to something about the gears slippimg. I'm not much on clockworks, so I'll just have to say that you'll figure it out, sooner or later! :)

Have a nice day!

Morning' Tony!

I know what you mean about the strange weather patterns we've had in our respective regions. The drenching Nor'easter, felt here a couple of days ago, brought with it a much more seasonably cold reality check! Boy, we really embraced those remarkable 80-90 degree summery temps/days from a week or so ago! What an unbelievable teaser! Now, it's back to wearing heavily flanneled anything, resetting our home's thermostats to turn on again and sipping or cupping hot beverages throughout the day. Let's hope that no freeze, frost or snow warnings develop till, at least, very late in the year! We're still getting over that record-breaking white stuff from about two winters ago! We're no longer made of heartier stuff anymore. LOL!

I get a kick out of Alley's metaphor concerning your old grandmother (?) clock's loss of time each night due to a possible slipped gear. Me and my gears also feel quite slow on the uptake these days. LOL! Nevertheless, it also reminds me of that very old Timex watch commercial with the announcer's, John Camerson Swazy, famous tagline, "it can take a lickin', but keep on tickin'!" I guess as long as we can remain at least slowly tickin', we're ahead of the game.

May you and yours have a pleasant day on the "Prairie" today! Stay warm and snow-free!

Good morning Tony...its ok to sleep in when you can, being retired we should never feel guilty for those extra hours we can sneak in cuddled up with a loved one. So the Old Lady is still losing time, not much help I can offer other than maybe a gear is slipping somewhere but I suggest you just leave her alone and make the necessary adjustments in the AM to compensate. Don't forget, she is an old gal just like us and we tend to slip too...LOL

Have a wonderful day, hope it warms up more for you on the Prairie. Before you know it, we will be in May and hopefully the temps will stablize by then....
