No More Photos

So sad to learn of the discontinuation of the WunderPhotos. Met so many great people through our love of photography, travel and weather. Glad to say we have remained friends and have met many in person.

I do not have the time to download and save my photos from this site, so I have asked one of the long time members to do it for me. Even though my photos on here are low resolution, I no longer have access to many of the originals as I've changed compu...

Hurricane Charley Anniversary

By: oneshotww, 1:16 AM GMT on August 14, 2012

Eight years ago today - on Friday the 13th - Hurricane Charley made landfall in Punta Gorda, FL. All forecasts had it hitting Tampa and so the SW coast of FL was taken a bit by surprise. It was a Cat 3 and exited the state at Daytona Beach. I lived about 20 miles south of there and we lost power for seven days.I always remember this day in 2004 and I think of it as the beginning of two very active tropical seasons.

I spotted Josh from TV Reality Show, “Deadliest Catch” at the Market and he was so nice and let me get a photo with him.Day 2Drove south from Tacoma and met up with Leia (known her for years thru this site but had never met in person). We photo’d for hours at Northwest Trek – an animal refuge. Light was really tough to shoot in but we both...

Fall Roadtrip

By: oneshotww, 7:13 PM GMT on October 25, 2011

Last year I didn’t get to do a fall trip, so we took a long weekend and drove up to the North Georgia Mtns. to see some leaf color. It was really nice and I recommend the area to anyone living in FL or thereabouts that would like a fall view without having to go too far. The weather was perfect - cool but sunny and NO humidity! We stayed in a little town, Dahlonega and went to the Amicalola Falls State Park, had dinner one night in the town of Helen, took the tr...
