I was just reading one of my lists and came across this link to the Havaria Information Service: AlertMap (RSOE).

It's coming from a server in Hungary: I'm guessing Budapest. I believe we have a couple of WUcommunity members from Budapest.

If they read this -or anyone else know to whom to refer this entry to - and can give us more information on just what this Group is - it would be appreciated.

The link I gave above goes to a map that is translated into English, but the rest of the site is in Hungarian - I can only assume it's Hungarian, since I do not read, speak or write Hungarian. So, I really can't make out much on the front page.

This is - however - a VERY interesting site. It's quite sobering to see what is CURRENTLY going on in the way of 'disasterous events' around the globe. Quite sobering!

Enjoy the learning experience.

Very interesting indeed! My city, Toronto, is highlighted on the map today, under an Extreme Heat Alert, and it is HOT here!!! Was thinking it was just me!!

Man ... I just need to recycle some of my old posts! I can't believe the number of comments made today alone. And it only came "UP" again, because I used the comment-post window to test out an email to another WUmember for links and styling!

Glad everyone liked the link. That is quite an interesting visit .. to be sure.

WhiteRabbit: Havaria ? Is that a Slovakian name ? I'm not familiar with it and everything on a Google Seach comes up with umlats and croners ... over a mix of characters I have not idea what they are saying ... but it looks Balkin or mid-European. So ... no wonder you couldn't find it. ": )))

HatesHurricanes; You're welcome. Send away... the more folks looking the more likely people will get the point that we are setting on a powder keg! For good or bad - it's at least good the folks know about it. ": \

BarnDweller: You're most welcome. Glad you liked it. ': >

FLCrackerGirl: Hey gal, we aim to please! And that can require some digging at times. Just call me the InfoArmadillo! I love to dig! ": P

csweather: Great! It is mighty interesting info.

I've got a bunch of new posts lined up ... but just haven't had the time to finish them out and post. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned ...

That is a neat site. Not all the events it tracks are disasters, strictly speaking. It is informative to click on individual entries and read the details. You are correct about the language: Magyar (the national language of Hungary.)

That's great Les. Did you all click on one of the icons and follow through to a map of the marked area?
