06:30, 70f, raining! a blast of cold wind and a downpour woke me up. had to wait a bit to take the pup out. briefly dodged raindrops then ducked back inside. pup loves to be dried off with her towel.
07:20, 65f, still raining.. roosters carrying on. sheep asleep in the barn. donkeys grumbling over wet hay.. guardian sleeping on front porch under hammock.
10:00, ibis and wood storks poking around the ponds along 345. a turkey shaking it's feathers in a pasture. a bulture with outspread wings on a power pole. rain ends in a mist. high tide at CK. SW wind, 5 knts. 61f. great egrets in the marsh.
continued mending big haul seine. lots of holes. finally got to the first turn. only 450 ft. more to go.. pleasant in the boat yard. enough breeze to keep bugs away. 2 biologists retrieve dead green turtle from beach. a young one the size of a platter. no indication of what went wrong. turtle was buried.
16:00, mid tide at #4 bridge. WNW wind, 10 knts. 66f. some sun. no one at the oyster bar. great egrets wading the mud flats.
16:40, 68f at back door. mostly cloudy but some sun. windy. all vegetation looking revived. got 1 egg. sheep out in pasture.
19:30, 63f, gusts from the west. did chores. tangerine sunset. 1 deer in back yard. guardian chases her into donkey lot. got 1.4" rain.
21:30, 61f, windy. waxing gibbous moon over the horse barn. red mars in the SE. dixie and guardian barking and barking tonight. went out with pup who wanted to chase something obscure in the bushes. sheep all sleeping in barn and donkeys finishing their hay. lots of stars out. good night you dogs..
