05:50, 63F, clear. stars showing. roosters waking up. new lambs in the barn. chickens, except for little red hen, are laying again.
friends helped to strip the citrus yesterday (and cut me some more firewood.) got almost 4 boxes of tangerines plus assorted grapefruits and oranges.. hoping the trees won't suffer too bad from the predicted cold (20's and teens) that will pummel us in the next few days. 12 outdoor spigots to drip tonight! damn, not looking forward to this...
11:30, low 50's, NW wind, 15-25 knts. tide falling from high at 08:30. chilly out working on the big net. finished 2nd 600 ft. seine. temperature dropping and it's blowing.
14:30, 48F, NW wind, 15 knts. sun came out for about 30 seconds. blow-out tide at #4 bridge. gulls, cormorants, brown pelicans on oyster bar.
15:00, 45F at back door. not so windy at farm. everyone wants hay.
17:50, 43F, did chores. pup and guardian played. got firewood together. dripped all 12 outside spigots except for the pipe where the ex- took the spigot for his own use. damn yankee..
21:20, 41F, partly cloudy. waxing crescent moon high above. some stars. guardian out barking all over the farm. maybe the coons are out. she offed one saturday. north wind picking up. pup cozy in front of the fire. hoping it doesn't get below 30...
