05:20, 73F, hazy. some stars showing. woke up roosters. let guardian out. walked pup. another day, another adventure..
07:30, high tide falling at CK. b'rer rabbit crosses road along the way. 75F, NE wind, 10-12. breezy and sunny.
sampled fish populations between preacher's hole and # 4 channel. strong outgoing tide. pulled 4 sets with the 600 ft. seine. some hard pulls with strong currents and heavy catches. stingrays coming into the estuary to have their pups. measured 4 different species of a lot of rays. captured big black drum, YOY sharks, trout, a shad, jacks, menhaden, and whiting - all identified, measured, counted, and tossed back. bait net brought in young-of-the-year (YOY) permit, spadefish, and cobia (a rarity up here in the north.) water temps, 28-29C, 82-84F, and dark as coffee from the waters rushing out of the suwannee. a light chop. set bait seine on derrick key which is washing away, but still has black mangroves and several sandbars where birds rest - brown pelicans, royal terns, gull terns, dowitchers, and willets. YOY permit, a snapper, anchovies in the seine.

15:20, low tide at #4 bridge. spoonbills and egrets perusing the mud flats. 85F, NE wind, 10-12 knts. mostly cloudy. some sun.
17:30, 88F at back door. partly cloudy, sunny. not much of a breeze. got 5 eggs.
21:00, 81F. mostly cloudy, a haze a fog. waxing gibbous moon behind a gauze of clouds. no stars.
