20, 39F, partly cloudy. sun's up. roosters crowing. dixie and guardian at back door. let pup out to run a bit.
30. 42F, sunny and cold. NW wind, 5-10 knts. lamb bottles heating up. pup inside for her breakfast. cold fried chicken thighs for my breakfast and a raisin biscuit.
00, 54F, sunny. all dogs lying in sun. did wash and hung out clothes. sheep not sure about the hay. they'll just have to tough it out. spoiled rotten sheep.
40, 68F at back door in the sun. partly cloudy. chilly NW wind. got 2 eggs. sheep eating hay. good sheep.
40, 53F. clothes dry, folded them off the line. 2 deer in brush behind workshop. headed dogs off and walked west instead of east. gathering wood for fireplace. heating with a fireplace is a lot of work. bruiser feeling puny again. only ate half his dinner but wouldn't share the left-overs. he's 11 now, 120 lbs. a big, gentle dog but looking older and gets grumpy, esp. with the pup.
00, 44F, clear. some stars out. orion, jupiter*, all the brighter ones. must be a haze. nice fire going. house temperature up to 64. reading t. hillerman. "thief of time" is my favorite in his joe leaphorn/jim chee series.

* I do know that jupiter, mars, venus, mercury, and saturn (the only planets I can see with my naked eye) are planets but I usually lump all the heavenly bodies together and call them stars. I'm not ignorant, just lazy..
