06:05, 75F, mostly cloudy, calm. roosters up. yellow dogs at back door. reddog barking. selling off the rest of my larger ram lambs today. the buyer tells me that they are going to be weed-eaters at cattle ranches. hope so.
10:00, 78F, overcast. got 0.4" rain yesterday. sold 6 ram lambs. they led us a merry chase between the barn and the barn-yard. but we finally got them cornered one by one and tagged their ears and loaded them into a trailer with pot-bellied pigs in the front part.
newdog kept up a steady bark the entire time we were wrangling those rams - which is what she should do. afterwards she got praise and a dog biscuit and 10 minutes of running around the yard.
whew.. I am soaked through with sweat, but glad to have those guys off the farm so they won't bother my ewes. breeding season began on the solstice. 6 pt. buck in donkey woodlot.
12:00, high tide at CK. 80's, slight chop on the water. CK folks can get bottled water at the fire station when they show their water bill.
14:30, high tide at #4 bridge. herons and egets in the spartina. on 345, a male peacock giving a blue beer carton the eye..
15:30, 79F on the farm. overcast and thunder. a few strikes close by. electric went off twice. light rain. got no eggs.
21:10, 76F, slight breeze, very light rain. overcast. no stars.
