The majority of Mexico will stay mostly clear of wet weather on Saturday as a ridge of high pressure builds across the country. Mexico City will be sunny with a high of 84(F)/ 28(C), while Cancun can expect similar conditions with a high of 84(F)/ 28(C). Monsoonal moisture will continue to push westward over several Central American countries. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible across Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Across the Caribbean, scattered showers and stray thunderstorms will also move across Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands. In South America, a cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop over western Brazil and the northern tier of Peru. Moderate rain and thunderstorms will also be possible across Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and central Brazil. Meanwhile, a cold frontal boundary will continue to linger along the southeastern coast of Brazil. Stormy weather will push across Rio De Janeiro and neighboring regions. To the south, a trough of low pressure will slam into southern Chile, bringing heavy precipitation to the southern Andes. Gusty winds and lighter precipitation can be expected across Patagonia.
