Scattered showers and thunderstorms will linger along the southeastern coast of Mexico on Thursday, while high pressure will keep the remainder of the country clear of wet weather. Mexico City can expect sunny skies with a high of 80(F)/ 26(C), while Cancun can expect similar conditions with a high of 85(F)/ 29(C). To the south, a wave of monsoonal moisture will push westward across the Caribbean. This will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to several Central American countries, including Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Across the Caribbean, the tail end of a cold front will usher stormy weather across Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands. In South America, a warm, muggy air mass will push west southwestward across Brazil, bringing strong to severe thunderstorms to western Brazil and northern Peru. The strongest thunderstorms are expected to focus over Amazones and Yasuni National Park. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will also develop across Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia on Thursday. To the south, a trough of low pressure will inch across central Argentina. Rainy weather is forecast to occur across the region. Further to the south, a low pressure system will clip the southern tip of Chile and Argentina, as gusty winds and moderate precipitation will be possible across Patagonia.
