Watching and Waiting Quiet Chill in N. IL

Very worried for my East Coast Family and Friends. Very glad Del Ray and Florida friends are somewhat out of harms way. We have probably over 100 relatives and friends out along the East Coast yet to experience this storm. I do worry a lot about our relatives in the Poconos/NJ/PA higher elevations, and the flash flooding, etc...as well as those on Long Island probably the most.

Prayers up and candles lit! Probably won't post much with all eyes out East. Have a great weekend.

10/24/12 - Seems like it has been wait and see this week. At the moment, waiting on this front to come through and drop our strange warm temps over 20 degrees from 71 to 48 degrees!
And waiting on the track of Sandy. How strong? Where? And what other features will really be in play? Wow, lots of waiting and watching tonight!
Stay safe all ships at sea, and in port or where ever you may be!

10/15/12 - Have a good week.
10/09/12 - Storms coming in this weekend so I thought I'd start with a clean blog.
Stay safe everyone.
Will be quite busy with work, so feel free to add any severe information you would like to make people aware of.

Happy Halloween!

Morning Jus,

What's this about being up in the middle of the night? You turning into a night owl?
Hope you got some sleep before you have to begin the week! :-)

Well, this late at night, call me crazy, but the boyz are just havin a lil fun. Hmmmm.

Alright, we need a baseball song: (Well, if you can find the clean version...I'll play it. For now this will have to do)

a href="" target="_blank">Link

Add: Well I thought of that movie and the song because of how the pitcher gets his rhythm to play. But, then I remembered G-Baby dies in that movie and there was a social statement being made by Hardball. wow, THAT was a long time ago. THAT was like 1999 or something? And, unfortunately it is worse now. I am so sad for Chicago. More than ever, we need baseball.

ooooh, throw down show down on da blog! LOL... Game 7!!! Be there or b square!

Hello Ozgalah. A brown snake!!! Are they poisonous? Snakes don't bother me unless they startle me. I can hold them, too. But, like you, I don't like them sneaking up like that. Spiders are worse for me than snakes for some reason around here. I CANNOT HOLD A SPIDER!!! Probably all the woods and lakes around us. They can get huge!
Still trying to find a trainer. But, I worked on my own with Boomer (and Molly :) tonight out at my sons yard. I can do basics (sort of lol) I'm awfully nice to them though. They get way too many training treats and I find myself bending over to say commands to coax them instead of taking charge...tbc

Skyepony! How are the costumes coming along?? I am thinking I may buy a big family Christmas present this year to be kept at my house: A new sewing machine!!! One with all the computerized functions.
Hope you and yours are well. I read something about cinnamon rolls by you? hmmmm I can smell them over here ;)

99L may prove quite interesting eh? Heading over to see the word.

Hi Jus hope you had a great weekend! We spent most of yesterday in the garden clearing up the rubbish piles
as I hate anything around during snake season...... finished everything H went to put dogs in their runs as we were going out, went to the rainwater tank to get dogs water and a brown snake shot through his legs!!!!!! Very scary, hopefully it was just passing through.
Another glorious Adelaide day, unfortunately I've got a mountain of ironing to do so wont see too much of it!

What? BF Are you crying? Are you crying? There's no crying in Baseball!!!
Haha. No. The Giants won. Pitcher laid down a perfect bunt for an RBI. Even big hitters should be able to bunt. And punt.

Speaking of that, have a good one.

P.S. It's an amazing day in Chicago! See everyone later.

Well, hello, long time no visit!

I am beginning to feel more human and am able to get out and about - in cyber land at least.

Glad to see you are getting welcome rain. It is scary to think that Christmas is only nine weeks away. I am still waiting on summer to arrive!

Have a happy weekend :)

Everybody should be able to bunt.

Very nice rain fell today. Keeping the ground soaked before freezing temps and giving the living things what they need. Really good, productive rain.
Off for more adventures w/hubby! bbl

NEw, let's hope you get through without any of this nasty stuff! Pumpkin coffee was very good and I've almost made it through to 5pm! Let the weekend begin!

Ozgalah!!! I have forgotten to respond properly to you I think. The 22nd is a sign up for non-members of our Wags training center nearby here. I am going to try to sign Boomer up for a class but I'm not sure if I should do private or group with him. I'm having a tough time finding private training for conformation. Group could be troublesome at first because Son says he is playing too rough with Bella the big Cane Corso and I personally do not know how he is with other dogs (outside of Molly, Meatloaf, Bella). If I could find someone to just look at him and bring him somewhere to see how he is with other dogs in that environment, that would be good.
I think he'll end up staying with me because I know how to deal with him a bit better than my son. He's 9 months old and becoming a 'big boy' and he needs a lot of exercise and attention. Boomer needs a JOB, lol.

Hope your meet and greet went well!

Jus,sorry to hear your in a cold,I usually get my first cold in Novemeber or early December.Hopefully stay away from the flu.I get my flu shot next week, but then I read it only covers certain flu strains,so with my luck that one lonely strain that isn't covered will find me.Probably around Christmas time.
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
ahhhhh I seeee Yleee ty for splaining, just a lil slow on the uptake here. And now loopy from the meds. Thanks for the well wishes!

Another impressive system showing up maybe for next week?

No sleeping in, since I'm at work! :) No Christmas trees here, I think you misunderstood! My point was this weather here is similar to late November, when we put our Christmas tree up! :)

Hope you get over your crud soon!
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
Ylee: Putting up a Christmas tree? I haven't even dug my halloween decorations out yet, lol. Same type of yucky weather here, too. But, I'm going back to bed because I'm fighting a very bad cold. Hope you can sleep in!

LOL NEw, yes we have a very technical weather blog here, ROTFLMBO. As you can see, BF and I should be featured bloggers any time now!

Thank you for the lovely Water Vapor image BF! It says it all. Who needs the weather channel today?

Still fighting off this cold (maybe strep?) who knows. I'm losing the battle though :( dang. Going to go and get a hot cup of pumpkin coffee and maybe that will help me get through the rest of the day.

TGIF! Have a great Friday all!

Low 50s, cloudy, with a chance of rain all day here; perfect weather for putting up a christmas tree! Or sleeping in, lol!

Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
Ok,your overwhelming with these technical weather observations, that spinny thingy. So is a spinny thingy an upper low or mid-level low,is it low low.I guess you could term it as a windy whirly thingamajig.Whatever it is its sending a lot of rain up at us today, but going to send some warm temps our way tomorrow,up into the 70's,while your on the cold side.

Save it. Save it. Save it! No wait, I saved it.

Here's the SPC 700mb analysis and it kinda matches. lol Matches better than the upper and the low levels do at the center...

I'm calling it mid!
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
My point is: What is the NWS in Chicago Saying? I don't understand what they are saying in that graphic. I better save this. Ok well mid-level ok well say so....

Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:

I was looking at that also. Saved the graphic. Soooo... this is some rotating, midlevel, non-snow feature...? ora, ora...?
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
Uhm what?
Me poor bones...
And what's up with the 692 over the center of Sconsin up in my graphic for the day? Splain you Chicago/Romeoville people??? If that's the center of the upper level low? It can't be? HUH, mid-level low? Oh ok well

Hiya NEw, and Ylee....basically I could about repeat the last comment of the day yesterday to shore, lol!
Just got done with a non-stop crazy day of work and probably have more to do as things come in tonight when people get home. It's nuts!

Cold, windy on and off, rainy here. Dark skies indicative of that spinny thingy up der on the map above!

Saw a post of a gust to 81 mph in SD? Wow! Suppose that's the weather news of the day and I still need to find out what happened last night with those tornadoes???

Ylee, it certainly has been an interesting week. I hope you behaved yourself while you were off.

NEw, get ready for this system to whack ya. It's bone chilling 50's with dampness and the wind. You'll be happy to be inside, believe me. Your house is going to look so nice! :) I'll bet you two are just thrilled with the new look of home.
I actually called the contractor for converting the patio door (remember the one which was deteriorated so much and we didn't know it until the old siding came off?) but we're turning it into just a picture window. I'll do pictures of the room so you can see what I mean. The darn slider door releases so much heat and doesn't really belong there anyway. We saved extra siding to do the work, too. Can't wait.

Ok ramble scramble...another phone call just came in...I will deserve a darn martini after this week is over, LOL!!

Tupperware and tornadoes and trolls, oh my! :) You've had an interesting week, haven't you? Me, I've been busy away from work, trying to keep what little property value this doublewide has left!

At least the tupperware lady had a basement, and you didn't force them into an interior bathtub with a mattress on top, lol!

The lady could have used the tornado as a selling point:" Even a tornado cannot break the seal of this two liter serving bowl! And you can microwave in it, too!" :)

Hope you are having a good day!

Hi,jus, what a beautiful fall day out there for us,then tropical air comes streaming in tomorrow and friday with lots of heavy rain and wind and some thunder.Sounds like I'll be painting this weekend, although I do have to get my lawn cut for the last time probably on sunday.
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
Hi Shore, I just got done with a ton of appointments and was not at a computer all day, so I did not know this. I actually just glanced at the SPC yesterday and didn't expect quite far north for that line. Wow.

NEw, hello! Well ya'll are just shaking it up out there! How completely unexpected was that? I just happened to be around at the moment and saw the alert come in. HUH? "Maine???!!!"

Maybe should have left the blog on auto-pilot. BBL I have to wrap things up for the day w/work. Thanks for stopping.
Getting gusty and dark outside, btw...hmmmm temp is still 67 though. Cue spooky music!

Stormy weather
Member Since: Posts: Comments:
Hi,Jus,
It always is fascinating with small earthquakes such as we had in Maine yesterday, how people some distance from the quake differ on what they felt.In Mass. half the people never felt a thing, while the other half felt some vibration,to some people said the whole house shook.Anyway it certainly gave the news people something to talk about breaking in for live coverage, when in fact there was nothing to really talk about.
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
4.6 eq in Maine??? Wow
Cooking dinner and still working Ozgalah, nice to see you! BBL for a proper response.

Hey Jus, I'm with you better safe than sorry! Last time we were visiting MN was when Minneapolis got hit and I was astounded at the number of people who were just ignoring the sirens! We were in my daughter basement when her cell phone rang and it was a guy who works for her and he lives in the same suburb, she asked him where he was, in the kitchen so she told him to get off the phone and go somewhere safe!!! Good luck with all the training, I have to keep reminding my guys of their "manners" at the moment I am pushing "sit" before they get their dinner as they had become quite a rabble as soon as they saw me coming with the bowls. We have some people coming to the house on Sunday who are prospective puppy buyers so the dogs had better be on their best behaviour, we always invite people to come and see the gang before they buy so they see what it is like to share some time with a welsh springer. I usually supply morning or afternoon tea and the visitors get to see how the dogs settle down under normal circumstances, unfortunately that means I have to do some extra housework and cooking!!!!!
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
Hi BF, oh darn it. LOL
Well, I know the sun came out just before that line hit and it was warming. It tried real hard to become something on the ground, but didn't quite make it. Good!

NEw, so true. It's always the false alarms people remember. But, when they get nailed they are glad they moved.

It is heading up to 68 degrees here, with rain and storms headed in tomorrow. Stronger down by Arkansas and extreme southern IL according to the day 2 outlook. We are getting good rains so keep them coming. Not close to making up for the 11 inch deficit, but it helps.

Good morning, jus.
1925 UNK SCHAUMBURG COOK IL 4203 8808 LARGE TREES UPROOTED (LOT)

***1928 UNK 4 NNW ROSELLE COOK IL 4203 8810 TREE DOWN ON SCHAUMBURG AND SALEM ROAD. THIS TREE FELL ON A PRIVATE PROPERTY FENCE. POSSIBLE FUNNEL CLOUD IN THE AREA. THIS REPORT REPLACES THE PREVIOUS REPORT OF A POS (LOT)

*** Yesterday morning there was a red dot on the map and a tor report in the text (removed now) calling this one a "possible tornado" and said NWS was surveying the area. I copied it and was gonna post it here but your blog was closed. Didn't save it. :(

Apparently they decided no tornado. I don't see a report on it at Chicago NWS.

Happy Tuesday.

LOL,hey,Jus,I know how you feel,I tend to warn people in my family when alerts go up and when nothing happens, they all just look at you like your some kind of nut.The problem is if something really does happen, people will remember the false alarms and not get to shelter.Oh well.Glad to see you opened up your blog, after the visit from our favourite troll. So....did they or didn't they? Call the ball on the Schaumburg tornado??? LOL I made a bunch of ladies at a tupperware party in Buffalo Grove hit the deck for that. They darn well have better have found rotation on the ground! Just call it an F-1 and get it over with. Please.

Yup, kind of felt like Barney Fife after it was over....

And, here's a photo of the damage, bwahahaha! Only one limb down on the entire street. Just shoot me!!

Hi BF, thanks so much for posting that message. True story! I really thought the hook was still there coming after the first cell, and was right. Then it really calmed down and I was waiting a little longer than needed. By that time everyone was already upstairs.
I was real calm about it though...jus making jokes.

Hi Ozgalah, it was kind of funny. Great show party though! Haven't been to one in years.
How is everything there? Did I mention I talked to a fantastic breeder who is very active in the ABRA, an American Bulldog registry authority and had such a great conversation about Boomer. I learned all the specific things I need to test for genetically, and went over some plans for Confirmation training, and other credentials training and testing, etc...
Yesterday, I took him for a walk and had the choke chain on him for the first time. (he's 9 mos probably about 85 to 95 pounds---first time for the choker) He was sooooo good! He remembered every command from when he was trained here as a puppy. What a smart boy! Dau will start running with him this next week and training for the certification. (I'll post a video of that test for American Bulldogs, it's really cool).

Hi Shore! Winds have been from another direction and trains have been quiet lately. But, glad you thought of me. No tornado ripped through like a train, thank goodness. But HAD ONE come our way to that tupperware party-- we would've been safe by golly! LOL

Yes, tupperware! And some Home Signature thing, too. Very cute stuff. I need some items because I keep buying the disposable containers and feel that is a waste to take lunches in, etc...In the long run it is worth it. I want the BIG Bowl 'tower' set and a new salad spinner, and a special refrig. veggie keeper. Wish list...we'll see. The homegoods items I'll buy for gifts maybe. Still not spending beaucoup bucs on this stuff yet. I wish I could. We made a wish list and have til the end of the month to really order. We'll see if I can. In this economy (I do see the sale prices) I'll bite to help an individual with their cause more than a chain store.

Well, it was my sister in law's party, so if anyone wants anything, let me know and I'll tack it on to the order.

Off to check the storm reports. Hope no one was hurt after making all my jokes uhm....ooops
Member Since: December 31, 1969 Posts: Comments:
I thought the tupperware lady was gonna kick me on the way out! "Gee, thanks for ruinin my tupperware party, you weather weenie!"

Welllllll??!!! What else am I supposed to do??? Bunch of ladies sittin around while the sirens go off! Sheesh.

Move move move!!!! Don't just sit there! Tornado Warning! Move!
