Friday was pretty busy, even though our container vessel was late.

It arrived at 10 PM Friday (15 hours late). One boat was waiting for their STUFF. We had five food vans plus a freight container. That boats product was scattered over all five vans. We had to touch them all.

I had the guys at the warehouse at 5 AM Saturday. That boat wanted their product at 8 AM.

It was snowing and they had to plow the dock.

At 8 AM we had most of their fright, but one container was still not there. We delivered what we had, and the rest followed shortly. We got a nice compliment from the customer.

The rest of the day was one situation after another. The phone never stopped ringing. I had to re-charge twice.

Our warehouse was PACKED with pallets of incoming freight, and two boat crews stopped in for food. We are not really a walk in place, but it happens. It was crazy busy, and we took care of those customers.

We only have room for four vans at our dock, but we had to jam a fifth off to the side.

I prefer to be hands on, but it was hands on the phone all day.

We delivered the last piece of air freight at 9 PM.

I got a call at 8 AM saying a boat needed a small order delivered by 4 PM.

Dutchie was working on waking me by walking across me over and over. FLUFF the Far West Cat also woke me by turning on the I-mac. A blast of light. I had no hard feelings. That cat still has an eye for the mouse...

Then there was another long day Sunday. But we got a lot done. I had a nice cold during it all, making it all the more interesting.

It has been a fox feeding frenzy the last several nights. A couple nights ago GOLDEN ROD showed up. I had fox visits the last couple nights. But ROD was new. I was standing on the chow porch checking out the late night scenery. Often I step outside just before I hit the sack, no matter what the weather. You never know what may be lurking.

I saw nothing. But I heard SOMETHING close by. A golden fox about 6 feet away just below where I stood on the porch. Then he scattered away. But he was right back. He was pretty friendly.

I went inside and got some food. I left the door open. When I came back a few seconds later, ROD was in the mud room. All the way in. I tried to get some pics, but it was quick and blurry.

HOPPY had stuck his head in that door a couple years ago and I took that picture called NICE PLACE! Rod was full body in.

Nothing tonight yet.

Rotty, I hope you took that prof some Valentine candy or something. If the writing doesn't work - maybe the sweets will. I'd be willing to try!

Thanks, DOTMOM, for the Valentine greetings; and I also wish you all the best with your thesis, ROTTY.

Maybe Golden Rod will come by tonight for his/her Valentine's treat of some yummy chow.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It's a dreary one here, but at least I got lots of work to do, so I'm okay with that :)

Will snuggle with the pups tonight for a nice night. Yea. Nothing like a snuggle when all else falls apart.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can finish this degree next month (depends on that major prof mostly).

Ah Cholla, that was so-o-o sweet. Will you be my Valentine? (Fantasy mode you know - but just on the second sentence.)

{Fantasy mode on)
A month or so after his kid was born, and a few days before Hoppy ended up as a pelt hanging on the "for sale" rack in the Grand Aleutian's gift shop..... Hoppy conveyed to his offspring "When the snow covers the ground, the wind is howling, and you're hungry- go to that house up on the hill, the one with the Tahoe parked in front. The man who lives there is a really good guy, and he likes us. Be a friend to him, and he'll feed you. He will never harm you. Tell him I send him my thanks and gratitude for helping me...."

Whadda do to FRIGHTen that customer by 8 am, Joe? (yes, I couldn't help it...).

Actually, "NICE PLACE" is my log in image on my work computer. Yea, I see the Hopster all the time. :) Thanks for sharing. And yes, I agree w/ Cholla, it looks like this might be a Hoppy kid.

Been fighting at home w/ computer access to WU. Got gremlins in there. So I'm waiting for them to take up residence elsewhere for a while.

At least I got through the bibliography part of the writing. I feel almost like your schedule... except I don't call it "hands on" when I stare at the screen for 11 and 11 1/2 hours respectively. At least that's done. Now on to making revisions that were requested ... I could use some good vibes if anyone can spare a few.

Have a great week everyone! I'm sure most will have a better one than me right now. But the end is near. I hope.

Working 5 'til 9 eh?

Dolly would barely have time to fix her hairdo. Luckily you never have that sort of bother.

You probably make do with less make-up in the morning too. Though if, as you say, by 8am you had 'most of their fright' then clearly the latest in pore refining male moisturiser products have passed you by.

I'll mail samples.

I know.

You're more likely to tenderise a steak in the stuff, Alaskan winters can be harsh.

On steaks.

It's nice to know that you still have some time for fun at work though, judging by the big smiles in the latest photos.

And that trampoline that leans up against your office wall...

You sure Dolly is insured for that activity?

Thanks, Joe, for the pic of GOLDEN ROD. It looks like he/she could follow in HOPPY's footsteps.
