Superstorm Sandy

By: jmrp46 , 8:53 PM GMT on October 30, 2012

The very destructive "hybrid" "Frankenstorm" Hurricane Sandy passed north of our area last night and today. It was only a Category One storm but combined with a cold frontal low to deliver a destructive storm surge, high winds and flooding rains over much of the coastal mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

There was little damage at our location (south of the brunt of the storm) from the only-moderate-strength local winds and perhaps 7 cm of rain that fell. There were electricity outages in our County, but none in the immediate area.
