^__^ I miss Alaska... really, I do. Currently, it's 18° in Fairbanks, 17°F in Copper Center, and the low was around 8°F in McCarthy this morning. Here? Light rain and still near 50°F after what was pretty much a BEAUTIFUL day. Of course, there was two weeks ago (nearly) when it blew 110 mph and the power went out. I missed that. I was in Denver (got out at the PERFECT time between the storms)... and got the following text from hubby at 2am on October 14th.. "YOU ARE NEVER LEAVING THE STATE ALONE AGAIN." Yeah...well.... the LAST time I left alone (November 2002), we had that big earthquake up in Copper Center. This time? A wind storm that one of my friends here (who's been here for 18 years) described as being "the worst I've EVER SEEN." Seems I'm always missing that. Denver was just too sunny for words and TOO HOT. Man, it was in the 80s. What was UP with that??
So, we now joke that we miss Alaska and live in Canada (and when I fall out of favor on Facebook and it freaks out on me, it always panics and has the "SOMEONE IN B.C. CANADA IS ATTEMPTING TO ACCESS YOUR ACCOUNT!" warning... No.... not Canada... if it WERE, I'd be a little more grumpy that there's no Tim Horton's. =P But, 46°F and rain at the moment is too weird for words. I miss winter. This evening we talked and laughed about the Halloween in Copper Center that the kids were DESPERATE to go out trick or treating, so I took them.... and it was -27°F... Looks like this one will just be rainy.
Sorry about the shellfish allergy, Ron! What a BUMMER! Only for you, I'll say this... blech! They're AWFUL! (sorry)
