Tied the Record High of 42--more snow and rain tonight!

By: jitterymoose , 8:44 AM GMT on February 12, 2006

Okay, so the chickens are now sweating to death. Actually, they're just happy to be out and around in their yard, enjoying the sunshine and weirdly, freakishly high temperatures. The bizarre weather continues, and we tied the day's high temp record at 42 this afternoon. It's now 11:45-ish, and it's still nearly 30 degrees outside. It's risen from a low of 27 (still balmy!), and we can really tell the snow's getting ready to move in. I'm still hoping for snow and not more ice. Please....no more ice. Hope everyone's having a fantastic weekend! We had the plumber in to put in our shower, and it looks like our bathroom remodel will be done next week! hooray! I wonder if the webmaster here will allow me to post pictures of it.... hmmmm.....

JM .. well about those images .. if you have an account w/you ISP (most offer a 'personal web page space') just put the images (be sure to OPTIMZE them for the web; ie, make sure they are JPEG's - not bigger than 640x480 pixels and optimized at 7 (same as 70 or Medium) on the JPEG quality scale. That way they won't be such a 'draw' on the 'pipeline' as WanderYakuza mentioned in his Developers Blog post last week, Copyrighted Images and Hot Linking.

Then just write you blog report on the bathroom redo and put that LINK in your Blog Post as an embedded link and we'll be able to see the pix and you don't have to worry about bending the 'allowed images rule' for WUphotos.

So - I'm curious too, where were you before you decided to become an "Alaskan Snow Pie" .. ": )))

Good luck keepin' those chickens warm and the toilet flushing.. ": ))

Where did you live before Alaska?

I relocated from Las Vegas, Nevada to Nome, Alaska. Talk about a major change!
