Season Start. Are we ready?

By: hcubed, 5:12 PM GMT on June 01, 2010

Taken from the Sun Herald editorial page:

"South Mississippi enters the official start of hurricane season today in better and worse shape than ever before.

"On the positive side, our roads and bridges - with the notable exception of Popp's Ferry Road Bridge in Biloxi - and shelters are much better than pre-Hurricane Katrina. That should make both evacuating and staying near home easier.

"On the negative side, there's that oil out in the Gulf..."

So now we begin the REAL watch. There were a couple of near scares (90L and Agatha, almost Alex). The season still promises to have severe storms, so prep shouldn't stop.

The smaller stuff is filtering into the van, and the lists are near complete.

Just don't threaten your life by arguing over what you consider the "important" stuff. Family first, stuff second. I'd rather see a pile of useless stuff left behind than waiting till the last minute to decide.
