A pair of low pressure systems will develop over eastern Europe on Sunday, while a separate system inches across southern Europe.
A broad area of low pressure will split into two separate systems over eastern Europe. The first system will retrograde slowly northward over Lithuania, Latvia and the Baltic Sea. This system will generate moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms across Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus. Helsinki, Finland, will experience morning rain with a high of 63(F)/ 17(C). Riga, Latvia, can expect afternoon and evening rain with a high of 64(F)/ 17(C). The other area of low pressure over eastern Europe will produce light to moderate rain in Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. Kiev, Ukraine, will experience intermittent showers throughout the day with a high of 65(F)/ 18(C).
A disorganized area of low pressure will transition across Italy and the Balkan Peninsula. This system will bring widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms to south central and southeast Europe. Locally heavy rain will be possible in northeast Italy and the western tier of the Balkan Peninsula. Zagreb, Croatia, is forecast to receive between 5 to 15 millimeters of rain with a high of 54(F)/ 12(C).
Additionally, a cool air mass will spread across northwest Europe. Light precipitation will accompany this air mass on Sunday. Amsterdam, Netherlands, will have a slight chance of afternoon showers with a high of 54(F)/ 12(C).
