A trough of low pressure will dig into the northern tier of Europe on Saturday, while a stormy weather pattern continues for southern Europe,
A trough of low pressure will move east southeastward over the northern half of Europe. This system will bring a blast of cool air to northwest Europe on Saturday. Edinburgh, United Kingdom, will be sunny with a high of 59(F)/ 15(C). A cold frontal boundary will stretch southwestward from southern Sweden to Ireland. As this frontal system pushes east southeastward, it will generate rain and isolated thunderstorms across portions of southern Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, western Belarus, Czech Republic, Slovakia and The Alps. Tallinn, Estonia, is forecast to receive between 15 to 25 millimeters of rain with a high of 62(F)/ 16(C). Warsaw, Poland, will experience afternoon and evening showers with a high of 67(F)/ 19(C).
A separate area of low pressure will drift eastward across Ukraine. Showers and thunderstorms will trail this system over Ukraine, Moldova, Hungary and portions of the Balkan Peninsula. Kiev, Ukraine, will experience intermittent showers throughout the day with a high of 66(F)/ 18(C). Stormy conditions will also linger over Italy. Rome, Italy, is expected to receive between 10 to 20 millimeters of rain with a high of 65(F)/ 18(C).
High pressure will dry conditions out over the Iberian Peninsula, although scattered showers will be possible in northern Spain. Lisbon, Portugal, will be partly cloudy with a high of 66(F)/ 18(C).
