An Atlantic system will bring impacts to western Europe on Saturday, while an area of low pressure inches across eastern Europe.
A low pressure system will move east northeastward over the northern Atlantic. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend south southwestward from the southern coast of Norway to the Bay of Biscay. This frontal system will transition east northeastward, generating moderate to heavy precipitation across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, western Czech Republic, Germany, northern France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. The heaviest precipitation will affect western facing mountain slopes across southern Norway. Bergen, Norway, is forecast to receive between 25 to 75 millimeters of snow with a high of 40(F)/ 4(C). Amsterdam, Netherlands, can expect intermittent showers on Saturday with a high of 50(F)/ 10(C). Additionally, strong winds and high surf will impact western Denmark, northwest Germany, the Netherlands, Wales, Scotland and northern Ireland.
Meanwhile, a weak frontal system will initiate light precipitation from the northern tier of the Balkan Peninsula to Finland. Eastern Belarus and eastern Ukraine will stay clear of wet weather. Moderate rain and high elevation snow will also spread across a large span of the Balkan Peninsula as a low pressure system deepens over the region. Sofia, Bulgaria, can expect afternoon and evening rain with a high of 45(F)/ 7(C).
