Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, March 01, 2016

A pair of low pressure systems will develop over the southeastern quadrant of Europe on Tuesday, while a trough of low pressure slides across northwest Europe.

A broad area of low pressure will split into two separate systems. The first low pressure system will transition slowly from from central Italy to the southern edge of the Adriatic Sea. This system will usher light to moderate rain and embedded thunderstorms over the southern half of Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania. High elevation snow showers will also be possible across the aforementioned countries. Naples, Italy, will experience intermittent storms throughout the morning and the afternoon with a high of 58(F)/ 14(C). Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, can expect afternoon and evening rain with a high of 47(F)/ 8(C). The second area of low pressure will move northeastward from the northern tier of the Balkan Peninsula to Belarus. This system will bring widespread mixed precipitation to central and eastern Europe. Munich, Germany, is forecast to receive between 25 to 75 millimeters of snow with a high of 36(F)/ 2(C). Minsk, Belarus, is expected to receive between 75 to 125 millimeters of snow with a high of 35(F)/ 1(C).

Meanwhile, a robust Atlantic system will brush across western Europe. Strong winds and high surf will impact portions of Ireland and the United Kingdom. Light to moderate precipitation will also develop across a handful of countries, including Sweden, Norway, Denmark, western Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Bergen, Norway, will experience a mixture of rain and snow with a high of 40(F)/ 4(C). Paris, France, can expect late afternoon and evening showers with a high of 47(F)/ 8(C).
