Snow Fall this Weekend

By: don62009 , 11:28 AM GMT on December 17, 2013

We did have about 4-5 inches of snow here in the Benld - Gillespie area this past weekend. Most of the snow fall happened early Saturday morning.

A group of us spent most of Saturday afternoon digging out driveways and sidewalks. This was a heavy wet snow and shoveling was tiresome. We did have assistance of gentleman on a 4-wheel drive ATV with a blade and that helped make some haste in our clearing activities.

I remember 24 years ago on 12/16 the temperature was -10 F and we had about 6 inches of snow on the ground. We have a picture of the bank time and temp display showing -10 F. Now those were chilly days.

The "Full Cold Moon" as the full December Moon is called was a beautiful site on the drive home from work. Around Benld last night we had freezing fog up and to around Midnight 12/16.
