Frost in Maryland

By: cws6196 , 7:32 PM GMT on October 20, 2013

Enjoying the fine autumn weather? There is currently a frost advisory in effect for tonight for western MD as far east as Carroll county. Due to the lack of cloud cover, when the sun goes down tonight radiational cooling will take place, allowing temps to drop into the 30s for much of Maryland. Urban areas may stay in the 40s.

By mid-week a cold front moves through bringing us even colder temps and more chances for frost. I suggest beginning to move in sensitive vegetation as I don't see temps rising any time soon. By the end of this week far western MD could actually see some snow! None for us in central or southern MD, but snow could be in MD soon. By the way, for those interested, here is the link to the map of the current snow on the ground in the USA: http://wxug.us/18vdb
