Always Remember....

Since I haven't written in awhile, I thought I would talk about some interesting weather patterns I noticed this summer. In June, we were hit by some pretty nasty severe thunderstorms. I was alone at my cabin in Alexandria, MN (for work), and it stormed through the night. Sheets of rain came down, the lightning torched the sky, thunder shook the house, and worst of all, the wind was freaky!! It got up to 70 MPH....I was pretty nervous. I really like storms, but when it gets windy like that, it can be really scary. I had to hide in my downstairs bathroom when it got to be really bad, and I hardly got a wink of sleep all night. It is definitely something to remember. We lost power around 2:30 A.M., and it wasn't restored until nearly noon the next day. It was rather inconvenient, not to mention pitch black. I could not get my car out of the garage, so I was unable to make it to work. It caused other inconveniences such as using a water bottle instead of a sink (the water was out too). A heavy branch fell in our yard, too heavy for me to handle. It was a relief to have the power back on and the yard cleaned up. What a start to summer it was!!
