I live right in the middle of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Our Great Lakes protect us from much of the extreme weather in other states.

Although it certainlyl doesn't feel like it today, we are expected to have a white Christmas in my part of the country. We had some freezing rain last night although it just left a bit of a crust on what snow we have left (about 3 inches). The deck was quite slippery and I spread salt first thing so that I wouldn't fall on my behind. The dogs even tiptoed over it although they wouldn't have far to fall if they slipped (dachshunds). Driving is quite treacherous this morning with many school closings. This is expected to change to all rain by this afternoon with temps reaching the mid 30s. There is another storm bearing down on us from the northwest but no real predictions are in place as yet as to what we can expect. We could see this one by Sunday.
Right now (9:30 AM EST), our temp is 31.8F , the humidity is 98% and winds are from the north at 7 mph giving us a wind chill of 25F. Visibility is 3 miles and we have light mist at this time. The dew point is 32F and the barometer is 29.82" and steady. Our high yesterday was 39F and the overnight low was 30F. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 12PM tomorrow.
Today...Light rain and freezing rain until 1 pm...Then light rain and a slight chance of light freezing rain. Patchy fog. Near steady temperature in the mid 30s. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
Tonight...Cloudy. Light rain likely and a chance of light freezing rain until 1 am. Patchy light freezing drizzle after 11 pm. Lows 26 to 30. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph...Becoming light north late. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
Saturday...Cloudy. A chance of light snow after 1 pm until 3 pm...Then light snow likely. Accumulations up to an inch. Highs 30 to 34. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 60 percent.
Saturday Night...Freezing rain. Ice accumulation around one quarter of an inch. Lows 27 to 31. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
Sunday...Cloudy. Light freezing rain likely until 1 pm...Then light snow likely. Accumulations up to an inch. Highs 31 to 35. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
