Weather or Not!

Another Wonderful, Cool Night in Mid Michigan

By: chatcat, 1:23 PM GMT on July 25, 2013

This weather is so wonderful! I love the coolness and not needing the AC on constantly. Yes, it does feel a bit like autumn but autumn is my favorite season. I just wish that it could last longer than it does. I know, it's terrible to wish the summer away but the heat is what I don't like about summer. If the temps would remain moderate (70-80F), then I wouldn't complain. Today should be another winner with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Right now (9 AM EDT), our temp is 59F (15C), the humidity is 64% and skies are mostly clear. The dew point is 58F (14C) and the barometer is 30.12" (1019.3mb) and steady Winds are from the NNE but calm at present. Visibility is 10 miles. Sunrise was at 6:20 AM and sunset will be at 9:04 PM. Our high yesterday was 74F (23C) and the overnight low was 53F (12C).

Today...Mostly sunny until noon...Then partly cloudy until 4 pm...Then mostly sunny. Highs 76 to 80. Light and variable winds.

Tonight...Mostly clear. Lows 57 to 61. South winds 5 to 15 mph.

Friday...Partly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Highs 77 to 81. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Friday Night...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows 59 to 63. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Saturday...Partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 70 to 74. Northwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Saturday Night...Mostly clear. Lows 48 to 52.

Finally, An End to the Heat - Mid Michigan

By: chatcat, 2:17 PM GMT on July 20, 2013

Once again, all of the storms passed either to our north or to our south. But I guess it's a good thing because there was a lot of damage done in the Bay City area and well as the southern sections of the state. We did, however, receive 0.10" of rain overnight. On the positive side, the grass has finally quit growing. Today will be much cooler although temps will still make it into the low to mid 80s. Tomorrow will be our real relief with temps only in the upper 70s. Thursday night our AC went out on us around 10PM. It was a miserable night trying to sleep. So yesterday morning, we immediately called our service company hoping that they could make it out right away. They did well by showing up at 1 PM. The good thing was that we had to go to Detroit early in the AM so by the time we got back home, it was fixed. My youngest son was home when they arrived. Needless to say, it took all day for the AC to bring the temps back down to a comfortable level as hot as it was. Our high reached 96F and the overnight low was 70F.

Today...A slight chance of light showers after 2 pm. Partly cloudy. Highs 83 to 87. North winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Mostly clear. Lows 54 to 58. North winds 5 to 15 mph.

Sunday...Mostly sunny until 2 pm...Then partly cloudy. Highs 75 to 79. Light southeast winds.

Sunday Night...Partly cloudy. Lows 58 to 62. Light southeast winds.

Monday...Mostly cloudy until 2 pm...Then partly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 77 to 81. Southeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Monday Night...Partly cloudy. Lows 62 to 66.

Tuesday...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 77 to 81. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tuesday Night...Partly cloudy. Lows 59 to 63.

Another Heat Wave on the Way For Mid Michigan

By: chatcat, 12:49 PM GMT on July 13, 2013

We have another gorgeous day beginning although we will see temps on the rise over the next week. Highs near 90F will be the norm. It looks like the AC will be getting a real workout for the first time this summer. Hopefully, it will rid us of this increased mosquito population that we have seen this spring. On the positive side, everything is very lush and green and the corn fields are doing fantastic, quite a difference from last year at this time. So I guess we'll take what we get and like it.
Right now (8:30 AM EDT), our temp is 65F (18C), the humidity is 58% and the dew point in 64F (17C). Winds are from the east at 3 mph and the pressure is 30.20" (1022.4mb) and steady. Skies are clear. The UV Index is 1-low and visibility is 10 miles. Sunrise was at 6:09 AM and it will set tonight at 9:15 PM Our high yesterday was 83F (28C) with an overnight low of 55F (13C).

Today: Lots of sun with a high of 85F. Winds from the ESE at 5 - 10 mph.
Tonight: Clear with a low of 62F. Winds light and variable.
Sunday: Sunshine with a few clouds. High around 90F. Winds light and variable.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear with a low of 67F. Light and variable winds

Hot weather with highs around 90F will prevail all this upcoming week. The best chance of rain will be Friday.

Cool Weather Prevails in Mid Michigan

By: chatcat, 12:43 PM GMT on July 01, 2013

Yesterday was nice with plenty of sun early. Then some rain cells developed just north of Flint moving to the southwest along I-69. We only received a few sprinkles and these cells fell apart almost as quickly as they developed This morning we continue to be cloudy and temps are very cool for the first of July. This whole week will see below-normal temps but I'm fine with that. Mid 70s is perfect for me. This is quite a contrast from weather in the southwest with 130F reported at Death Valley. And even Arizona is having 116F temps. I have a picture on my Facebook page of someone who cooked eggs by just placing them outdoors in the sun. Nope, I wouldn't like that weather.
Right now, (8:30 AM EDT), our temp is 60.6F, the humidity is 55%, and we received just a trace of rain yesterday. Winds are from the northeast at 3 mph and the barometer is 30.15" and rising. Skies are cloudy.

Today: Breezy. Partly cloudy until noon, then isolated light showers until 2 PM. Mostly cloudy this afternoon with light showers. Highs 73 to 77. Temps slowly falling through the afternoon hours with northwest winds from 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with scattered light showers and isolated thunderstorms. Lows 55 to 59. Winds decreasing to 5 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 50%.

Tuesday: Cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs 70 to 74F. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Tuesday Night:
Chance of light showers. Lows 56 to 60. North winds 5 to 15 mph through midnight, then becoming light and variable. Chance of rain 40%.
