I live right in the middle of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Our Great Lakes protect us from much of the extreme weather in other states.

With our hot, dry summer coming to an end, Michigan has been having seasonable temps for September. Our summer had been very dry although rainfall has been closer to normal this month than in June and July. We spent a good deal of time camping this summer since keeping our trailer in an RV park near Indian River. Our last trip there was two weeks ago and following our last outing with the boat, both boat and trailer were placed in storage for the year.
Today we managed 73F for our high, but we are warned that we shouldn't expect this to last much longer. The remainder of this week will be mild and sunny, but real autumn weather is knocking on our door. So far we have had no frosts, and we don't expect any this week. But I'm sure that it will happen soon.
Overnight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. West wind 3 to 6 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Light north northwest wind becoming north 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. North northeast wind 3 to 6 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 64. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40. North northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 66.
Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44.

With another Labor Day Weekend behind us, we now have cooler, wetter weather to look forward to, as well as school buses blocking our commute to work in the morning. This morning was the annual Labor Day Bridge Walk across the Mackinaw Bridge (pictured above), a tradition here in Michigan for quite some years. Any travelers in the state were certainly blessed with beautiful weather this year. There was a threat earlier last week of the weekend becoming victimized by the Isaac remnants, but it was not to be. The summer-like temps will continue a few more days then more fall-like weather will make an entrance by Saturday. I'm hoping that September will continue to bring nice weather because I still have a bit more camping to do.
Right now (8:15 PM), our temp is 81.9F, the humidity is 52% and winds are from the NNE at 5 mph. The dew point is 66F and the pressure is 29.89" and steady.
Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11pm. Areas of fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. East northeast wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Areas of fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Light and variable wind.
Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Light south southwest wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
