Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, May 16, 2014
The majority of Mexico will experience warm, dry conditions on Friday as a ridge of high pressure builds across the northern tier of the country. The exception to this will be along southeast Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula, where scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to linger. Mexico City will be sunny with a high of 74(F)/ 23(C), while Cancun can expect rainy weather throughout the morning and early afternoon with a high of 82(F)/ 27(C). Meanwhile, heavy rain and strong thunderstorms will move across Belize and Guatemala, while scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible across El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. An easterly wave of moisture will usher moderate to heavy rain over Costa Rica and Panama. Across the Caribbean, the tail end of a cold frontal boundary will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to The Bahamas, while parts of Cuba will have a chance of scattered showers.
