Are you ready for some rain?

We are still on track to receive widespread rain across the metroplex tomorrow as a boundary and upper level low tracks over the DFW area. At time some of these storms could turn severe with damaging winds and hail as the primary threats. Also there's a threat for localized flooding and the NWS has issued a flash flood watch from 7 AM Thursday July 17 until 1 PM Friday July 18. I'm still forecasting the metroplex to receive between 2-3" of rain with folks to the NE...

The cool front has arrived!

The cool front finally made its way through the metroplex but not before we reached our 2nd 100° afternoon. Here in Mesquite we saw about 0.32" of rain yesterday afternoon and early evening. This morning the radar is pretty quiet with most of the rain activity to the south of the metroplex where the cool front is currently located. Another hot afternoon heading our way then a rare July cool down
