Day 2

By: UMichTornadoCamp , 4:13 AM GMT on May 07, 2014

Today we went from St. Louis, MO, to Norman, OK. Along the way we passed through Joplin, MO, and Moore, OK: two cities devastated recently by large tornadoes. Once in Norman we were able to take a tour of the National Weather Center. This is home to the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) and Storm Prediction Center (SPC). The place was amazing, we were definitely jealous of the students at the University of Oklahoma who have that right in their backyard. We walked inside the football stadium on campus. They take a lot of pride in their football in Norman but we all know they don't have anything on the Maize and Blue. We got dinner at Sonic and unfortunately were in the close vicinity to some high school girls who, how do I put this, liked to listen to themselves talk. Loudly. We're looking to get into Lubbock sometime tomorrow afternoon.
