Ocean Current

Over the last few years, I have been paying closer attention to marine conditions when I fish the reefs off of Ft Lauderdale. I have gotten pretty good at forecasting wave heights based on wind speed and direction. One thing I have not been good at is forecasting the direction and speed of the current before I get out on the water. I have noticed that speed of the current does change as I go shallower or deeper.

In addition to my business life being highly reliant on weather conditions, so is my recreational life. I am an avid fisherman living near Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Whether it is drift fishing, reef fishing or trolling, I am out on the water at least twice per week. As I plan my trips, I always check the marine forecast throughout the week.
