Storm Damage

By: TractorMan67 , 12:38 AM GMT on August 15, 2014

A thunder storm came through on August 9th and demolished the swing on my dock. The swing ended up in the yard 30 feet from the dock it was sitting on. The interesting thing about this is the swing was strapped to the dock with heavy duty strapping material. The straps were broken during the storm. My station reported a wind gust of 36mph, I feel as though the wind gust that hit the swing was higher than that. The swing is 100+ yards away from my wind sensor. The rain rate registered 15.16 inches per hr. during the storm. We received 2.86 inches in short order.
You can view the video of the storm caught on my weather camera at this link. The storm comes through near the end of the video.
