The false security of surviving a Hurricane

I have been actively observing hurricanes since David in 1979. Over this period, I have observed that much of the spiral banding is what does the wind damage. While sometimes this occurs in the eyewall, most times it does not. This is especially true in storms lower then cat 2. While I first noticed it in Hurr.
