I can't help it. There's a part of me that becomes giddy when there is a potential for a storm. I know that makes some of my friends want to punch me, but it is what it is. I am the dork that checks every weather site and monitors how close they are to a consensus, then calls my family in Florida (the most boring winter weather state ever) to talk about it.
Shoveling snow is great exercise, people, and it looks like we might be able to further develop our upper body strength as this next storm comes our way. Part of the reason I sound like an insane version of Pollyanna is because I have 4 school-aged children. Snow days are grueling. I have to be motivated not to lock them all in the cellar. (That was a joke. I don't have a cellar.)
It's sick and twisted after the winter we've had, but I'm looking forward to grocery shopping with the masses and having the kids bring in wood while I bake things. Part of that is simply because when it snows, it slows our frantic pace. Kids build forts and play board games, like in the good old days. I catch up on laundry and everyone has matching socks. It simply wouldn't happen if we weren't trapped inside our house. So bring it on, Titan. We're running out of clean underwear anyway.
