Rain finally comes to San Diego

By: SDSkyWatcher , 11:51 PM GMT on August 02, 2014

After months of extremely dry weather, San Diego is finally experiencing a rainy day. Today's total won't make a dent in our current drought, but it is very welcome.

I was 12 years old when we moved to San Diego in 1964. We lived until '67 in La Mesa on the NE slope of Mt Helix at 1000 ft elevation, and on one occasion I witnessed a snowfall with trace accumulation.
