No rain

I had my hopes set so high for a nice rain shower for Thanksgiving. Now, there is no rain in the forecast.

Well some people, especially those that live in Southern California, might consider rain in May unusual. But with the major volcanic eruption(s) in Iceland, I'm not surprised we have unusual weather late this spring.I thought we got more, but the rain gauge read just over 0.05".

Jan. 17 storm system

If my mental math is correct (and my mental math is terrible) we got about 6.95" this past week.My dad took me on a short drive over to what is considered "old" Friendly Hills. On a few streets, there were sheets of water cascading down. At one intersection near Friendly Hills, there was slight flooding.We also drove to the city limit with La Habra Heights. There was muddy water flowing down Solejar Dr. There was also a few small tree branches down. Other than that,...

It's interesting to note two different temperature readings for the same location on the same page. A difference of 2.2º. The lower of the temps, 63º, agrees with my thermometer.

Nearly the same

I decided to get outside and walk around for awhile before the Rose Bowl started. The weather was nearly the same as yesterday - low 70º's with some high clouds. It was very nice. From the vantage point on the hill, you could see the Pacific to the south.
