Jan. 17 storm system

If my mental math is correct (and my mental math is terrible) we got about 6.95" this past week.

My dad took me on a short drive over to what is considered "old" Friendly Hills. On a few streets, there were sheets of water cascading down. At one intersection near Friendly Hills, there was slight flooding.

We also drove to the city limit with La Habra Heights. There was muddy water flowing down Solejar Dr. There was also a few small tree branches down. Other than that, there was not much damage noted in my area.

The flood control channel behind my house backed up with debris. The flow through the spillway was still good and it did not back up much. The flow of water was so strong that it was able to carry very large logs several yards. It'll probably take several weekends of cleanup back there.
