I've many passions but two of them are reading & camping, so naturally my camper's name is Parnassus for Christopher Morely's "Parnassus on Wheels".

I took some new photos of Sammy today (4-7-07) just a week before he turns 7 months old and he's a whopping 80 pounds- a bouncing baby boy!
Happy Easter! :-D
Scroll down to 30th post for Sammy Update.
Hubby and the pets (Sammy the puppy and Triton the kitty) have just returned from another camping trip (using the term loosely) at Brownville Park. I hestitate to call it camping since we are in a 36 foot motor home that has all the comforts one could hope for. But, it gets us out of the house and away from all our day to day chores for a few days, so we enjoy it. It was chilly and rainy on Saturday night and we were sure grateful to be in our snug vehicle, instead of in a tent like some of our neighbors!
This was our second outing in the "Ark" as we have dubbed our home on wheels, and Sammy and Triton are becoming more accustomed to traveling in it. Both are quite happy once we are parked, but they are still getting used to going down the road.
We walk a lot while we are Brownville Park- they have some great nature trails so we make use of them several times a day. Luckily, the weather was great for hiking all weekend.
Here are some photos:

We're already starting to plan our next trip- maybe to Myakka River State Park or Oscar Scherrer State Park, or maybe even to Babcock/Webb WMA, where I used to work.
For now, the trips have to be close to home so we can be back in time to start the work week on Monday, but each time out is preparation for longer journies for Sammy and Triton so we can break them in slowly. We're still hoping to find a position as a Host Camper or something like that so we can sell the house and make this our livelihood!
