AS OF 4:00 PM 8/14/07In the Atlantic basin there are 2 main areas of interest. The first area is recently upgraded Tropical Storm Dean. Dean is still fighting off strong easterly shear but should moving out of it by tonight. Once Dean is out of the strong shear there will be nothing to inhibit rapid intensification. Most models hint at Dean becoming a major hurricane by Sunday. Which to me sounds like a quite reasonable forecast. Its going to be encountering warmer ...
