up and down temps

By: NEwxguy , 1:13 PM GMT on March 14, 2012

Most of the country east of the rockies is really warm, the last two days I've hit 73,but now the flow has turned off the waters, which are still in the 40's,so much cooler weather the next couple of days.
One of the downfalls living near the ocean is when the temps are off the ocean in springtime,it can turn much cooler than a hundred miles inland.
Gradual warmup over the weekend and could be up in the 70's again by early next week.
Big story in Boston last night was a large power transformer blew up and caught fire in the center of Boston and they had to turn off power to a large section of the city, power is still out in a large area this morning. When a large city loses power,it can be chaos, but things seem to be calm this morning.

They've got their work cut out for them down there. You have the feeling they are going to feel the effects for sometime.
Well,I haven't seen this kind of pattern in my memory.Certainly we can get warm days toward the end of March, but this so strange and certainly not going to complain,but....
Will we pay for this down the road.LOL...
Following weather for so many years,I just know Mother Nature has a way of equalizing things.

Good Late Mornin' NEw!

Quite the turn of events going on around here these past 24 hrs both weather-wise and, quite possibly, with some of Boston's problematic aging transformers . I heard an updated report, just awhile ago, from Mayor Menino and NStar reps that they're now bringing in generators (both from here and other states) to assist in restoring power. How long they can keep that up and efficiently repair the serious damage done is anyone's guess. This will really put a dent in the Boston tourism trade right now and the energy company's budget. Never ends does it?

Weather-wise, I don't know about you, but we received quite the lightning and thunderboomer show late last night! Guess the METS were right about that cold front from the New Brunswick region of Canada colliding with the warm front sweeping up from Southeast USA. It's quite strange to awake to a 25F degree weather dip which should last throughout a couple of days. Nevertheless, it's a small price to pay if our temps rise to near 70F again by Sunday and, quite possibly, the middle 70's by Tuesday's offical springtime arrival! What a great way to welcome in the new season! Now, if we can get that to last for the next three months, it would be heaven sent! Fingers crosssed! LOL!

Hope the remainder of your work week remains bearable and, by Saturday, you can relax and celebrate St. Patty's Day in grand style! LOL!
